There Are Many Symptoms Of Anxiety

Anxiety is more than just worry. When you’re dealing with anxiety, you may experience a wide range of symptoms. These might include:

  • Frightening or disturbing thoughts

  • An impending sense of dread

  • Irritability, agitation, or anger

  • Overwhelm

  • Trouble sleeping

  • Sensory overload

  • Emotional outbursts

No matter what symptoms you’re dealing with, you don’t have to let your worry control you. Treatment with Monarch Behavioral Health can help you let go of the weight of anxiety, experience peace of mind, and feel more confident in who you are.

Anxiety Is Inevitable In A Society As Stressful As Ours

Anxiety is a normal response to uncertainty and danger. This is why it’s so common to experience it during large-scale events like the COVID-19 pandemic—the uncertainty surrounding our safety and wellbeing can put a lot of stress on our lives. Sometimes anxiety stems from issues that are closer to home, such as unhealthy expectations from parents or the workplace. Nowadays, there is so much pressure to succeed in our careers, our schooling, and our social lives—anxiety is all but inevitable.

We live in a culture of comparison, which is another reason anxiety can creep into our lives. As social media use increases, there are more ways for us to compare our lives to what we see in others. All day long we are bombarded with images of happy couples, beautiful vacations, and people who seem to have it better than we do. It’s no wonder so many of us worry that we’re not good enough.

Sometimes It’s Hard To Know Where To Look For Help

When you’re dealing with anxiety, it’s difficult to talk about what you’re going through. Sometimes other people might judge or invalidate you, acting like anxiety is not a big deal. As a result, it’s all too easy to isolate and turn to drugs, alcohol, and other unhealthy coping strategies. Unfortunately, this kind of avoidance behavior often leads to being separated from the support of our friends and family.

You’re not alone in your struggles. Others have found ways to reduce how much space anxiety takes up in their lives, and you can, too.. Treatment with Monarch Behavioral Health can help you manage your anxiety and experience the freedom to enjoy your life.

Your first appointment will be virtual. This will be a conversation between you and one of our therapists about what you’re going through, how anxiety is affecting you, and what you’re hoping to get out of treatment.

We treat people of all ages, so if you’re a parent or guardian of a child who needs help with anxiety, the first virtual appointment will be with you alone so you can speak openly about what your child is going through. The next sessions will be with your child, but from time to time we will have regularly scheduled check-ins with you.

In all of our sessions, we try to strike a balance between discussing the problems you're facing and solutions to help you with those problems. It’s important to explore the roots of your anxiety and what might be causing your symptoms, but we always want to equip you with solutions that can help you reduce your anxiety right now.

Treatment Methods Tailored To Your Needs

Anxiety takes many shapes and forms so our approach to therapy focuses on your specific needs and struggles. Our therapists are trained in a variety of methods to help with anxiety. These include methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which can help you manage anxious thoughts, and breathing exercises designed to help you calm your body and mind.

We can also take a more innovative approach to treatment, incorporating exercise or yoga into your therapy. For children, we often use play therapy, sand tray therapy, and other fun, hands-on approaches to the healing process. Together, we will navigate what you’re going through and equip you with the tools you need to deal with anxiety.

Through positive coping techniques that are uniquely suited to your needs and goals, you can lessen your stress, rediscover your self-confidence, and find relief from your anxiety.
