With more than twenty years of experience in community mental health and nonprofit settings, Ashley brings a deep understanding of how emotional and behavioral concerns can look different across stages of life. She provides therapy for children ages five and older, teens, and adults, with particular experience supporting clients affected by trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, emotional dysregulation, and significant life changes.
For younger clients, words aren’t always the easiest, or most natural, way to communicate what is happening internally. Ashley incorporates play therapy, sand tray, and expressive arts to help children explore emotions and experiences in developmentally appropriate ways. Her broad range of training also allows her to tailor therapy for adolescents and adults, drawing from approaches such as EMDR, CBT, ERP, ACT, and IFS based on the individual and their needs.
Establishing trust is an important part of Ashley’s work, particularly when clients are approaching experiences that feel painful or overwhelming. She takes time to understand the person in front of her before determining what treatment should look like, pairing a grounded, relational presence with evidence-based interventions that can help reduce distress and create more sustainable ways of coping.
Ashley earned her Master of Arts in Psychological Counseling from Nicholls State University. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to meeting clients at their current stage while giving them the support and tools to move toward greater stability and emotional well-being.
