Other people’s expectations can become surprisingly powerful. Family roles, relationships, cultural messages, past experiences, and even labels meant to explain us can begin to influence how we see ourselves. Jessica helps clients examine those messages, decide what genuinely belongs to them, and develop a stronger voice in shaping who they want to be.

Self-advocacy is an important part of Jessica’s work. She wants clients to become more comfortable expressing their needs, setting boundaries, questioning expectations, and making decisions that reflect their own values. This can be especially meaningful for those exploring identity, struggling with self-esteem or body image, navigating relationship concerns, or working through the effects of generational patterns.

Creativity often enters the process as another way to understand experiences that may be difficult to explain through conversation alone. Jessica can incorporate art-based activities and expressive techniques alongside Client-Centered Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She adapts these methods to the individual rather than expecting every client to process emotions in the same way.

Jessica sees children ages eight and older, teens, and adults. Her own experiences with personal wellness have influenced her belief that people should not be reduced to assumptions about who they are or what they are capable of becoming. She brings that perspective into therapy by approaching each client with curiosity and giving them room to define themselves on their own terms.

Outside of counseling, Jessica enjoys settling in with a favorite comfort movie. Her rotation includes Love, Rosie, Safe Haven, Stuart Little, The Hunger Games, and Little Women.
