JoAnna McBride-Fleming, Pre Doctoral Fellow
Supervised by Dr. Amanda Sharp, Licensed Psychologist
JoAnna earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavioral Analysis (2014), and her Master of Science in Psychology (2016) from Purdue Global University in Indiana. She is a Pre Doctoral Fellow, completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Capella University.
JoAnna helps people who long to feel empowered, valued, and connected, and fear that their past or adverse experiences holds them back and defines them. She motivates, encourages, guides, and trains people to feel empowered by their unique strengths and abilities so they can overcome the challenges and obstacles that prevent them from living their best life.
As a military spouse, JoAnna has had the pleasure of living all over, igniting her love of exploration. She enjoys being a tourist and discovering the heart and soul of each new city she calls home, from the art museums to local eateries. Although her list is constantly expanding her favorite cities to get lost in so far have been Seattle, Washington DC, Denver, New York, and Los Angeles.
JoAnna knows from working with civilian and military personnel all over the country that we are all interconnected and seeking acceptance, love, community, and a deep sense of purpose. She believes that self-love, 30 seconds of bravery, an open-mind, and humor will change the world. That's why JoAnna hopes you take that first step and prioritize your wellbeing so that JoAnna can help you to move beyond those barriers and achieve your goals.
As a clinician JoAnna believes in embracing imperfection, for it is what makes us human! Perfection is not within our grasp, so we must instead, strive for excellence. JoAnna hopes her clients instill this mindset through an environment centered around unconditional positive regard, honesty, and courage; for real change happens when we feel safe, are open and honest, and courageous enough to challenge the status quo. Her clients know that she is their biggest supporter and will walk alongside them on their journey, always maintaining a deep and unwavering commitment to being authentic, compassionate, and at times humorous.
