He intentionally builds rapport early on so clients feel seen, valued, and understood, creating a space where they can show up honestly and begin to move forward. With warmth, empathy, and grounded insight, Robert supports clients in developing both practical tools and a deeper sense of self-compassion rooted in how our brains and relationships actually work.
Having navigated his own mental health challenges, Robert brings both lived experience and clinical knowledge into the therapy room. He believes this combination allows him to meet clients with genuine understanding while helping them make meaningful, sustainable changes. He especially enjoys working through questions around science and biology alongside faith and spirituality, and how these perspectives shape mental health, relationships, and identity. He also values helping partners and families build empathy and strengthen connections.
Robert’s clinical approach is guided by two core values: flexibility and honesty. He tailors therapy to each individual rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all model, and he prioritizes transparent communication throughout the process. If a client’s needs fall outside his scope, he is committed to helping them find the right support, believing that client wellbeing should always come before maintaining a caseload.
Originally from San Antonio, Robert enjoys spending time outdoors, SCUBA diving, bird watching, and cheering on the Spurs.
