Relationships can become complicated long before anyone knows exactly how to explain what went wrong. Ryan works with adults, couples, and families who want to communicate more clearly, understand recurring conflicts, rebuild trust, or find a healthier way forward when relationships have become strained.

With couples, Ryan focuses on what is happening both within the conflict and underneath it. Communication patterns, unmet needs, emotional disconnection, and damaged trust can all influence how partners respond to one another. His work helps couples slow those interactions down, consider each other’s perspectives, and develop more productive ways to communicate and resolve conflict.

Individual therapy with Ryan may focus on anxiety, persistent depression, grief and loss, trauma-related distress, or the transition from military service into civilian life. He helps clients examine barriers that may be keeping them from moving forward while developing the communication and life skills needed to express their needs more confidently and make intentional changes.

Ryan’s military background and experiences living and working around the world have contributed to a culturally aware perspective that recognizes how family, culture, relationships, and life experiences can shape the way people understand themselves and others. His clinical work draws from Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and EMDR, allowing him to approach both present-day concerns and experiences from the past that continue to have an impact.
