Diandra Palacio, M.S., LPC, MT-BC, LCDC
Diandra obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Music, with a major in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology, from the University of the Incarnate Word (2018). Diandra achieved her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio (2022) following clinical experience in music therapy. She is currently enrolled at the University of Texas at San Antonio, pursuing her Doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Diandra has prior experience in career counseling. She also has experience working with the Center for Health Care Services, San Antonio State Hospital, and Sarabia Family Counseling Center, among other placements where she helped clients reach a wide variety of goals.
Diandra is enthusiastic about bringing creativity and new perspectives into sessions with her clients, along with patience and understanding to encourage communication. She is passionate about mental health advocacy and appreciates a psychoeducational approach as needed to provide clients with new tools to use. She brings with her a humanistic lens of treatment, putting the client first, and encouraging self-expression.
Diandra enjoys working with high-achieving clients, those attempting to reach their personal goals with motivation but are hindered by their doubts. She is excited to learn more from her clients and build rapport with a desire of service, actively listening to varied topics brought in.
In her free time, Diandra utilizes music as a way of relaxation, including singing and guitar. She also loves spending time with family and friends. She often goes to the movie theater and enjoys catching the newest releases when possible or is home watching Anime. Diandra appreciates a hot bowl of ramen, Chinese food, and baking.
Diandra believes consistency is key and unconditional positive regard for her clients is of utmost importance to allow for the exploration of past root issues. She encourages clients to be involved in the personal planning of the future and day-to-day living.
