Stacey Carlton, M.Ed., Licensed Professional Counselor

Stacey is a compassionate and skilled clinician with a deep commitment to supporting children, adolescents, and their families through life's challenges. With specialized training in individual psychotherapy and play therapy, she brings a warm, child-centered approach that honors each young client’s unique developmental journey. Stacey understands that children often express their emotions and experiences through play long before they can articulate them with words, and she uses this insight to foster healing, connection, and emotional growth.

Stacey’s clinical expertise also includes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), where she facilitates 90-minute interactive family sessions designed to help young clients process trauma in a supportive, structured, and relational environment. Her work in these sessions is grounded in the belief that caregivers are essential partners in a child’s healing, and she works collaboratively with families to restore safety, build emotional regulation skills, and strengthen attachment.

Her therapeutic style is integrative and evidence-based, adapting interventions to meet the specific needs of each client. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, or behavioral concerns, Stacey draws from a range of modalities informed by diagnostic understanding, psychosocial history, and present-day functioning.

In addition to her work with children and teens, Stacey has meaningful experience providing solution-focused individual counseling for adults, facilitating therapeutic groups, and supporting couples through Gottman-informed relationship work. Her calm presence, insightful guidance, and intentional use of clinical skills make her a trusted ally for individuals and families navigating complex emotional landscapes.

Stacey’s practice is grounded in the belief that connection, creativity, and safety are the foundation for growth, and she brings these values into every session, whether she’s kneeling beside a child in the playroom or guiding a couple through meaningful change.
