Let’s Talk About Men’s Mental Health

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, it is estimated that roughly six million American men suffer from anxiety and depression every year. Unfortunately, men are far less likely than women to seek help when they need it. This is not only true for all mental-health problems, but for depression in particular. It is important to know that a depression diagnosis can be especially hard to single out when men have other problems such as heart disease, stroke, or cancer. These health issues can all cause depressive symptoms, and the medications to treat these issues can cause depressive side effects as well.
