PTSD Symptoms In Children

PTSD can be difficult to recognize in children because there is already so much going on when it comes to their growth and development. Children and teens with PTSD feel a lot of emotional and physical distress when exposed to situations that remind them of the traumatic event.  If your child has been exposed to a trauma event, be on the lookout for symptoms mentioned above, as they can be indicators of deeper issues.

Additional psychoeducational material about Early Childhood Trauma may be found through the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (http://www.nctsn.org) or Zero to Three’s website (http://www.zerotothree.org/).
