What Causes Slow Processing Speed?

Unfortunately we aren’t 100% sure what causes slow processing speed as it appears to vary from person to person. New developments in neuroscience suggest that there are several different factors that may contribute to slow processing including but not limited to: genetic predisposition, neurodegenerative illness, and trauma.

It’s important to know that although slow processing can be difficult to deal with, it does not mean that you are any less intelligent than others. In our culture, being able to complete and comprehend quickly is highly valued due to the pressure for  productivity; however YOUR VALUE does not depend on this.

If you or your child is struggling with slow processing, we can help.
