What is Inclusion

As Lisa Friedman once said “Inclusion is a philosophy that embraces the idea that everyone has something of value to contribute and that everyone has a right to belong.”

Inclusion is important to practice in schools, in the workplace, and at home.

Inclusion discourages stereotyping, and emphasizes our commonalities rather than our differences.

Inclusion is actually really easy to measure and control.

You can look at policies and procedures that create experiences of exclusions and eliminate them.

You can also self reflect and look deep into some of your own personal biases.

Was there a time you experienced or witnessed an act of exclusion? How did you feel about it? What did you do?
