Have a quiet space to work. There should be a dedicated space for coursework where there are minimal distractions.⠀

Ensure a high-speed internet connection and large screen area... a plus for anyone. And test this high speed connection- nothing is more frustrating than a frozen screen!⠀
❖⠀
Headset while in an online class or meetings.⠀
❖⠀
Treat online classes like you would a regular class with a weekly schedule. Even though⠀
some of his classes do not have structured times where he meets with faculty, schedule time each day to complete coursework. Set alarms to alert you when it is time to switch classes. For classes with interactive components, such as lectures, take notes during the class, like you would with an in-person lecture class.⠀

Regular check-ins with faculty. This would help to develop the relationships with faculty. It will also increase accountability, as there are regular meetings with faculty teaching courses.⠀
❖⠀
Fidget Toy. options include the infinity cube and a weighted stress ball, such as the Squeeizbo.⠀
❖⠀
Standing desk/Bluetooth headphones. This should assist with his frustration with needing to remain seated for long periods of time.⠀
❖⠀
Actively participate. set a goal to participate a certain number of times per interactive class. This should help to keep you better engaged.⠀

Turn off phone notifications.⠀
❖⠀
Consider purchasing a Chromebook/tablet only for class. This Chromebook/tablet should only have internet access and the program necessary for class. This will help to minimize distractions.⠀

Track deadlines on a paper calendar.⠀
❖⠀
Create an online study group. reach out to peers in class to organize an online study group.⠀
❖⠀
Create social networking group. consider reaching out to peers to develop an online networking group to connect to peers.⠀
