Realistic Self- Care for New Moms

Calling all new moms! We see you and you’re doing amazing!

It’s important to remember to take care of yourself through the chaos of motherhood!  Here are 6 realistic ways you can practice self-care during this wonderful new phase in life!

Assemble Your Village. If you are lucky enough to to have people in your life who are willing to help during this new phase, don’t be afraid to let them!

Equip Yourself with Research and Knowledge. Feel free to do all the research you want to and ask all the questions you have when talking to a doctor or pediatrician. Preparing yourself with that knowledge will help you feel more at ease, and could potentially be life-saving.

Schedule Time with Your Partner. Your life is now fuller than you ever thought possible. Be sure to set aside time to spend specifically with your partner to keep your connection and communication strong.

Get Out of The House. Be sure to get out of the house a few times a week, even if it’s just to go for a walk

with your family. Fresh air and sunshine will do everyone some good.

Time Time to Reflect. Find a few minutes each day for reflection and meditation. Reflecting on your daily struggles and triumphs enable you to grow in amazing ways.

Be Kind To Yourself. Motherhood is tough, but so are you! It’s normal to feel sad, negative, or angry sometimes, so don’t be hard on yourself about those feelings. Focus on the things you can control and celebrate small victories.
