Wipe out whining

Wipe out Whining

Think about what could be needed … a snack, a rest, a book, affection

Find a distraction … you’re in the grocery store and your child is begging for “yummy goodness” (i.e. sugar packed treats), instead of saying no, distract by asking them to help put items on the counter for the cashier.

Unusually difficult time with whining? Give a hug, maybe it is pent up emotions that is bringing your child to a whining place. Act in an affectionate way by give a hug to help your child feel better. Or maybe it is just attention, help your child feel noticed and appreciated before rushing off to the next task.
