Loneliness During the Holiday Season

For many people, the holidays can be a time of loneliness rather than joy.

This loneliness can come from many places; some live far away from family and loved ones, others avoid holiday festivities out of fear and anxiety, and some are dealing with loss and grief.

The following suggestions can help you to feel less lonely:

  • Reaching out to loved one when we start to feel lonely

  • Make a habit of practicing gratitude

  • Stop and really think about what is making you feel lonely. Is there anything you can do to change the situation?

  • Remember that there are people in your world that love and care for you, even when you’re not feeling it in the moment.

  • Fill empty time with the things you love to do.

If you are looking for support with loneliness this holiday season, we can help.
